Step 1: describe the floor and the slab
Tell us the square footage, what the slab is, and what you want from it. Two minutes of accurate description is what lets a professional quote usefully instead of guessing. Useful details: interior or exterior, garage, basement, shop or commercial space, the age of the slab, any previous coating, and anything you have already noticed — cracks, efflorescence, a damp patch, a floor that lifted before.
Step 2: we route your request to local pros
Within one business day your request goes to up to three epoxy flooring professionals who work in your area. Providers in our network are checked for state licensing and insurance coverage where that information is available, and their profiles carry a verification date. Routing matters in this trade because slab conditions are local: the moisture behaviour of valley-floor ground in Sparks is not the same as a fan-and-terrace slab further out, and a crew that knows the housing stock is a better bet than a national franchise.
Step 3: compare itemised written quotes
Expect quotes to differ in what they include, not just in price. Compare them on the things that decide whether the floor stays down:
- The preparation method, and the concrete surface profile to be achieved (ICRI CSP 3–4)
- Moisture testing, which standard was used, and the actual reading (ASTM F1869 below 5 lbs/1000 sq ft, ASTM F2170 below 75% RH)
- Whether a moisture vapour barrier is included
- The system by name and the dry film thickness in mils
- Square footage and the per-square-foot rate, shown separately
- Crack routing, joint filling, spall repair and transitions, itemised
- Which jurisdiction is permitting the work, and who pays for it
- The workmanship warranty in writing, separate from any manufacturer warranty
